The Reformer King

Today let’s look at the life of King Josiah. He was only eight when he began to reign and he reigned thirty-one years in Jerusalem. He was one of the greatest kings in Judah and he is special in that he was named by an unknown prophet 356 years before! His name means “God supports and heals” and that is just what he did. He began to repair the house of the Lord and he tore down the high places used to worship false gods. He was the first one to do so. Even Solomon didn’t tear down the high places and Josiah, with a heart for God, did so. The word states that there were none before him who turned to the Lord with all their heart, soul and might, nor after him! Follow us for this fascinating story and more as we look at the life of Josiah and learn a few important lessons about humility.
