The Power of Small Yeses

In a world that celebrates the big, the loud, and the visible, it’s easy to believe that what we do only matters if it’s seen.

But the Kingdom of God doesn’t work that way.

So much of what God does begins quietly—in hidden places, through small acts of obedience that no one applauds.

Packing lunches.

Showing up to serve again.

Praying when you’re tired.

Choosing patience when it would be easier to snap.

Saying “yes” to God in moments that feel… ordinary.

These are the small yeses.

And they matter more than you think.

In Matthew 17:20, Jesus reminds us that faith as small as a mustard seed can move mountains. Not because the seed is impressive—but because of what God does with it.

God has always moved through what seems small and insignificant.

In Zechariah 4:10, we’re reminded not to despise small beginnings, because the Lord rejoices to see the work begin. What feels like “just a start” to us is something God celebrates.

And in Galatians 6:9, we’re encouraged not to grow weary in doing good, because in the right season, we will reap a harvest if we don’t give up.

That means every small act of obedience… every quiet moment of faithfulness… every unseen sacrifice… is leading somewhere.

Even when it doesn’t feel like it.

A shepherd boy became a king.

A quiet “yes” from a young woman changed eternity.

A handful of loaves fed thousands.

None of it looked big in the moment.

And maybe your life doesn’t feel big right now.

Maybe your days feel hidden. Maybe no one sees the effort, the sacrifice, the consistency it takes to keep showing up.

But God sees.

He sees the prayers whispered under your breath.

He sees the times you choose kindness over frustration.

He sees the moments you keep going when it would be easier to quit.

Nothing is wasted in His hands.

Every unseen act of faithfulness is seed in the ground—and seeds were never meant to stay small. Given time, they grow, multiply, and produce fruit far beyond what we can imagine.

You may not see the harvest yet, but that doesn’t mean it isn’t coming.

Faithfulness in the hidden places is never overlooked by God. So to the moms wiping counters and hearts at the same time…

To the volunteers who serve without recognition…

To the ones who keep choosing obedience when it would be easier to walk away…

Keep going.

Your small yes today could be part of something much bigger tomorrow.

God isn’t asking for perfection or platform—He’s asking for faithfulness.

And He does incredible things with that.
