How to Have Faith: Healing, Wholeness, and More

Faith isn’t just something we talk about—it’s something we live, grow, and share together. When it comes to receiving God’s will for our lives—whether it’s healing, wholeness, or the fulfillment of His promises—faith plays such a central role. But how do we make our faith stronger? It’s not about going it alone. Here at The Hub, we believe faith grows best when nurtured in a community, a group of believers you do life with along with intentional practices, and a ton of grace along the way.
Today, we’re digging into three ways to increase your faith and open your heart to God’s will. These practices—reading the Word, praying in tongues, and speaking the Word—aren’t just spiritual ideas; they’re practical tools that anyone, wherever they’re at, can use. And the best part? We’re in this together.

1. Read the Word

If faith is the foundation, then the Word is the blueprint. Romans 10:17 reminds us, “Faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the Word of God.” The more we read Scripture, the more grounded we become in who God is and what He promises. You’re not just reading words on a page—you’re soaking up truth, strength, and hope.
Here’s how to make the Word a daily companion:

  • Find your rhythm. Whether you’re a morning person or a night owl, carve out time that works for you—even 10 minutes makes a difference.

  • Focus on His promises. Verses like Isaiah 53:5 (“By His wounds, we are healed”) or Psalm 103 remind us of His power to restore.

  • Get personal. Write down a favorite verse. Pray it. Memorize it. Make it your anchor when life feels uncertain.

  • Seek Presence. Most importantly, during your time with God, seek his presence by reading, worshiping and just sitting quietly waiting for him to speak.
And don’t forget—reading the Word doesn’t have to be a solo venture. Join a group Bible study, or even just invite a friend to share what you’re learning. Conversations like these can spark insights you might not find on your own.

2. Pray in Tongues

Praying in tongues might feel mysterious or even intimidating at first, but in reality, it’s one of the most powerful ways to connect deeply with God. It’s a language of the Spirit—bypassing what we know and allowing the Holy Spirit to intercede for us and through us. Jude 1:20 puts it simply, “Build yourselves up on your most holy faith, praying in the Holy Spirit.”
What makes this so special? It strengthens you from the inside out. You’re aligning your heart with God’s will, sometimes without even realizing it.
Here are some ways to start:

  • Create space for it. Begin your prayers with worship, and just ask the Holy Spirit to lead the way.

  • No pressure allowed. It’s okay if it doesn’t feel natural at first. Take your time. There’s no rush in God’s presence.

  • Make it daily. Even five minutes can create a noticeable shift in your faith and your peace.
And don’t underestimate the power of a faith community here. If praying in tongues is new to you, lean on someone you trust for guidance. You’re not on this path alone!

3. Speak the Word

Words hold power. They shape our thoughts, actions, and even the atmosphere around us. Proverbs 18:21 says, “The tongue has the power of life and death,” and it’s so true. When we declare God’s Word out loud, we’re not just reaffirming His truth—we’re activating faith within ourselves and the spaces we inhabit.
Speaking the Word goes beyond quoting Scripture; it’s about letting those truths shape your reality.
Here’s how to make it real:

  • Memorize verses that speak to your personal situation. If you’re holding onto God’s promise for healing, Isaiah 53:5 is gold. Speak it, believe it, live it.

  • Flip the narrative. If doubt creeps in, shift the script. Instead of thinking, “This is impossible,” declare, “With God, all things are possible” (Matthew 19:26).

  • Encourage someone else. When you lift others with the Word, you’ll find your own faith growing too—it’s a ripple effect of grace.
Whatever you’re facing, speaking life into the situation, no matter how hard it seems, creates space for God to move.

Faith Grows Better Together

At The Hub, we’re all about finding strength in community because we know faith isn’t a solo sport. When you’re walking through challenges—or even just looking for encouragement—having others by your side makes all the difference. Spiritual practices like these don’t just grow your personal faith; they create opportunities for connection, storytelling, and shared breakthroughs.
Whether you’re discussing a Bible passage, praying with friends, or swapping stories about how God’s promises have shown up in your life, know this—you belong here. You’re part of something bigger.
Faith grows over time, and it’s okay to be patient with yourself. Lean into the process and the people around you. What you’ll find is that these practices—reading the Word, praying in tongues, and speaking the Word—will not only strengthen your faith but also remind you of this simple truth: God’s will for you is good. It’s healing, wholeness, and abundance, waiting to be received.
Keep showing up. Keep trusting. Keep growing. Together, we’ll see mountains move.
